This was about a 4-5 hour piece if i remember correctly. I had the photo on my hd for a long time and after adding lightning to the sky and failing every attempt to blend the thick cloud into the black space i gave up for about a week. Came back and managed to do something within 30 mins. I hate how that happens.

The first planet was the same one used in my New Settlement piece, i loved it so much i just had to use it again. Though it was hard to try blending that too.

I basically just added random things into the picture because i had no base theme. And this was the end result. Nothing hi class, but its worth the view.

Please FullView!!!

enjoy

Edit:

Thank you for all of your feedback, i've managed to fix all the problems, i think, that you guys saw, and i added extra features.

:bulletred: Added more dust around the planets ring
:bulletred: Added a visible sun (light source) from the original photo
:bulletred: Added a sharper filter to the photo
:bulletred: Made the blue flare a lot smaller
:bulletred: Added planet city lights
:bulletred: Removed the original red moon and added a different one.
:bulletred: Motion blured the ships
:bulletred: Thanks to Ed Giddings for the ships

This has got to be the most amazing, awe-inspiring piece I've seen in this category thus far. Scenes like these I can't ever hope to see, but burn bright in my imagination. I'm so grateful that someone with enough talent and creativity made it materialize into something more. I especially like the top half, but the entire piece as a whole is outstanding.

There's nothing else I can say to express how beautiful this is to me.

I like the added touch of the camera details - Kinda tricks you into thinking it's a real photograph! heh

Great job on the space scene, the planetry detail is immense and the nebula looks brilliant!

Sorry for the late commenting =)

*laughs* I love that DA still shows the camera specs... giving the insane feeling that this is all one impossible photograph. The lighting is impeccably done, and your planetary rings leave me speachless. What I really like, is that I can read a story into it. With the ships leaving, there is a sense of motion, action... whether that is going forward, exploring, or fleeing some catastrophy... I'm not sure what your definition of "hi class" is, but this is a favorite in my book :D :+fav:
